Hello there! Welcome to my blog. I'm Bill, also known as the tenth member of the Fellowship of the Ring. Feel free to say hi!

Everyone! Exciting news!

So my Mama told me some very exciting news! Three nights from tonight, it will be what she called “Crismas”. And on “Crismas”, you are supposed to hang up a clean sock. Why they use a sock, I’m not sure. That night, a strange Man in red clothes accompanied by little Deer comes to visit you. But while you’re sleeping, he comes in and puts a surprise in the sock! And sometimes, he leave brightly colored boxes! I wonder who he is. Anyway, the next morning, when you wake up, you get to look and see what he’s left for you! I’m very excited. Perhaps he’ll leave me food.

Mama says he’ll only come if you’re good the entire year. Well, I’ve certainly been good. All the horses have.

I wonder who this Man is. And why does he need Deer? Maybe the Deer carry the surprise presents? But, there are so many horses here! And what of the little ones? They’ve not been alive all year, they were only born this Laire! Perhaps because they’re small, they’re given the benefit of the doubt. But I’m small too… Hm.

All the snow is melting. I’m going to miss it. I rather enjoyed rolling in it. Mama says it hasn’t snowed in this part of the wood for over 100 years. I’m glad I got to see it.

I think flies don’t like the snow. They haven’t been around in a few months. Perhaps it should be winter all the time. No more flies, ever.

But then, that would also mean that I couldn’t go and eat the flowers in Thranduil’s garden. Hm… -shakes mane-

Snow?

Sure enough! It was raining before, but then I noticed something on Arod’s whiskers. I couldn’t believe it, so I looked up to the sky. Snowflakes! Along with the rain! What a strange Quelle we’re having this year…

Beautiful day in Mirkwood.

It’s been a rather productive day. Sat in the Sun all day, looking out at this

while eating some of these

May or may not have caused this

Sorry, Thranduil.

Mama has one of the windows open. I can hear her singing in Elf-language. It’s pretty. Gonna keep eating now.

Today was a rather splendid day. It was sunny, warm, and no bugs, which we horses like. Stood awhile and talked with Arod over some fallen leaves. Have you ever tried fallen leaves? It’s like Valinor in my mouth. And being Northern Mirkwood, of course the leaves are of very high quality.

Oh, wait, Mama’s come to share a muffin with me… mmm.

-munching- It’s very nice out tonight. The air is crisp and cool, just how I like it. I’m in my stall so I don’t know if Elbereth lit up the stars tonight, or if the Moon is hiding or not.

Been thinking about what Sam once said about me. He said I’d follow Frodo into a Dragon’s keep, if he led me. Alas, this is not true. I do not like the idea of Dragons. I hear they eat ponies. I also hear that they smell funny.

Well, it looks like it’s going to be a pretty day today here in the Forest. Though it’s terribly cold, especially for Quelle. My winter coat has not yet grown in all the way. But I sure am fuzzy. I think it will be a rather long winter. Maybe we can go South to Rohan, where it’s warm.

-looks up at sky- Judging from the placement of the Sun, I’d say it’s some time after 9 o clock. And I still haven’t been fed yet. -stomp- Maybe if I raise enough noise out here, Mama will give me food. If I was still with Sam, I would have been fed hours ago. But now my bucket is empty. Maybe a passing Elf will notice if I pine enough. I think I’ll do that.
